if you've been quietly looking at boudoir photographers in calgary for a while (screenshotting, closing the tab, opening it again three weeks later), this one's for you.
most people who reach out to me have been thinking about it for months. sometimes years. so i want to take the mystery out of it and walk you through exactly what happens, start to finish, so the only thing left to decide is whether it feels right.
what fine art boudoir means here
my work is dark, cinematic and quiet. moody light, shadow, skin, texture. a lot of bodyscapes — the curve of a hip, a hand on a sheet, the line of a back — and a lot of images where your face isn't the point at all. it's less "pose for the camera" and more being photographed like a painting.
it's not built around trends or a checklist of poses. it's built around slowing down and making something that feels honest and lasting.
and while the art is serious, i am not. i'll talk your ear off, lose my train of thought mid-sentence, and probably make you laugh before you realize you're comfortable. the art is heavy. the experience is not.
who books a boudoir session
honestly? everyone. some of the reasons women in calgary have reached out to me this year:
- a wedding gift for a future partner
- an anniversary
- after a baby, or while pregnant
- celebrating a body they worked really hard for
- before a surgery that would change their body
- coming out the other side of a breakup or divorce
- no reason at all, other than wanting to see themselves this way
you don't need to arrive confident, posed, or knowing what to do. that's my job. you just have to show up.
before your session
once you book, you'll get everything you need to prep — what to bring, what to wear, and a lingerie guide so you're not standing in a change room second guessing yourself. i also have a client closet you're welcome to pull from.
not sure what you want? we'll figure it out together. a lot of my favourite sessions started with "i have no idea, i just trust you."
the day of
your session starts with professional hair and makeup, included in your session fee. this is the part where you have a coffee, settle in, and stop thinking about it.
then we shoot. i guide you through everything — where to put your hands, where to look, when to breathe. nothing is rushed. you're never left standing there wondering what to do.
sessions happen in my private studio just south of calgary, an easy drive from anywhere in the city. i also travel — vancouver and the island are always on the table, just ask.
your image reveal
a little while after your session, we sit down together and go through your images. everything is already edited, so you're seeing finished artwork, not raw files. this is where you choose your favourites and decide how you want to keep them.
it's usually the part people tell me they'll never forget.
pricing
the session fee is $499. that covers your time, prep, professional hair and makeup, and the full guided experience.
artwork is chosen separately at your reveal, so there's no pressure to pre-pick anything before you've seen it. most clients invest between $1,500 and $7,000, depending on what they choose:
- fine art albums — designed slowly, treated as one story rather than a stack of single images
- wall art — pieces chosen for presence, not to be loud
- digitals — for those who want to carry the work with them more quietly
payment plans and financing are available, so the investment can be spread out in a way that works for you. full pricing is shared openly when you inquire.
common questions
do i need to be confident to do this?
nope. almost no one walks in feeling confident. most walk out feeling different.
what if i've never done anything like this?
most of my clients haven't. i'll guide every single pose.
do my images get shared?
not without your permission. your privacy matters, and nothing is posted unless you say yes.
do you photograph every body?
yes. every age, every shape, every stage of life.
how far ahead should i book?
the sooner the better if you have a specific date in mind, like a wedding or anniversary. calendars fill up months out.
ready when you are
if this feels like you, reach out. it doesn't mean you have to have everything figured out — it's just the first step in a conversation.
